Well technically my Mum’s 5 years to 60 but I think she looks great now than when she was much younger. Haha I’m sure she’s gonna credit this to her strict beauty regiment which I frankly can never match up to. I’m praying my rotund genes and generally round face will keep me looking youthful when I […]

I encountered this scene a short drive from the city of Kurunegala in central Sri Lanka. My family and I were sitting in the van on our journey to Dambulla when we encountered men offloading piles of coconuts, while the ruggedly weathered man nimbly sheds husks off the drupes that surround him.
“Children on a Bicycle” is one of Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic’s iconic street art in Penang, and is really popular with tourists. There was a group of Chinese national tourists hogging the mixed media graffiti for their numerous selfies when all of a sudden an old man speeds down the road nonchalantly at top speed, […]
I was running errands with my Mum yesterday when we were caught in a really nasty monsoon rain. Visibility on the road was about 20%. Couple weeks ago a pedestrian bridge near the highway we were traveling on collapsed from the impact of rain. Thankfully there weren’t any casualties. Crazy stuff just keeps happening up […]
Chary Vanette
There was hardly any space left to squeeze past the van at the back alley in Pinnawela, Sri Lanka. Honestly I wasn’t expecting any back alley traffic. It was after all a quiet part of day in the village. Looks like any road’s a road here. Nice to see a Datsun Vanette from the 80s […]
I took this photo for one of my photography assignments for class. Got my friend H to pose as my model. I must say that I’m much more confident with architecture and still life. Or perhaps it is just a matter of warming up from a fairly long hiatus.
The posture Shiyi readies herself before pelting me with her self-sculpted snow “grenades”. How could I not have known of things to come!!
Whoever said the Walkman is dead clearly hasn’t been to Canada. P.S.: This guy fiddled with his Walkman for 15mins before he could get his machine going. It plays cassette. No CDs, MDs or MP3s for this guy.
My ‘assistant’ for the day. I wondered if he had fun playing with my bridge camera… OK, it’s my Mum’s camera. The camera works better outdoors than indoors. Poor high ISO performance and iffy autofocus. The face recognition feature is a pain in the neck. Well, at least for myself. I prefer an all manual […]
I paired the orbis ring flash with my ancient Nikkor-P 105mm ƒ/2.5 lens. This lens is by far the trickiest lens to use. Mounting the camera on the tripod sure helps. I’m glad I’m finally putting my gears to proper use.
My Mum loves that hymn. She says it brings you closer to Heaven.
Don’t hand me that bouquet
Seriously I’d rather be caught dead than to hold that bouquet.
Embracing Noir
Guess who’s that?
There is something about using the 105mm lens. It’s painfully hard to use but when you get the focus right, the photos it produces just has that sparkling quality. A good, but difficult lens to use.
