Cinema

George Segal’s Cinema (1963) is one of the more prominent pop art sculptures on display at Albright Knox Art Gallery. The last time I was at AK, I only had my iPhone with me and I snapped a photo of this sculpture too, alongside the other pop art paintings near it. AK has a huge […]

Guaranty Building

There’s nothing not to like about the ornate and organic details on the terra-cotta facade of Guaranty Building. Does makes you wonder why office buildings aren’t build this way anymore. The Guaranty Building was one of the most advanced high-rise office building in Buffalo’s heyday in the late 1890s. It was designed by famous American […]

Buffalo Bull

I’m finally done with UB. I’ve graduated and am ready to move on. This statue of a bull is a mascot of my college. It’s the spot where most students take a photo of for keepsake at their graduation. I took this photo some time in December last year, during the bleak winter. For some […]

Pensive Reflection

A sculpture by a high school student that was on exhibit at Albright-Knox Art Gallery. This sculpture caught my eye while I was walking through the upper floor of Albright-Knox. For some reason I did not bother to jot down the name of the sculpture and the artist. This particular work left me a deep […]

Afternoon Tea

I can’t resist not posting this up. I had an awesome Friday with H last week… We had great food at a Vietnamese eating place at South Campus and spent our afternoon chilling out at Elmwood. I was in a jolly mood. I haven’t felt quite as happy in a while ever since something happened […]

The Everything Bagel

H and I went to the best donut place in Buffalo. And guess what H ordered… A bagel!!! I naturally ordered a donut. Nonetheless, the Bagel looks really appetizing. Pity she opted for the butter spread. Cream cheese would be heavenly.

Trapped

I took this photo for one of my photography assignments for class. Got my friend H to pose as my model. I must say that I’m much more confident with architecture and still life. Or perhaps it is just a matter of warming up from a fairly long hiatus.

Crushed hopes of Valentine’s

Saw this on my way to Ellicott on Sunday. I wonder who’s the chap that gave this balloon. His heart must have been crushed. Tragic… On another note someone just eloped (for the night). Guess who?

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I thought the only chance I’d get to see a grilled cheese sandwich will be limited to The Sims. Haha… Seems surreal to see the real thing in front of me.

Hayes Clock Tower

Hayes Hall was once a mental asylum before it became the faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at UB. There were countless stories, myths and legends of ghostly apparitions drifting the halls of this stoic building. Despite its age, it has an elevator that serves all the floors of the building. This building is worth […]

Health Science Library

Do you know this library was the original Lockwood Library before the bulk of UB shifted to the North campus?

Danger Zone

You’re fenced out and off-limits. But is there any construction going on behind that fence?

Crisp Leaves

Everything is turning “crispy” on campus. Ah… I so wish Autumn will last longer… Winter, please don’t come.

Kyli Rules

Who is Kyli?? I saw this at one of the residence hall, Scheollkopf Hall, when I was exploring the South Campus. I’m trying to familiarize myself with this campus before I start work.

Irish Classical Theatre

Featuring James Joyce’s The Dead… What about Ulysses? The brownstone architecture lines the theatre district of Buffalo. According to a friend, the deserted street reminded her of an early morning walk through a theme park. Yes… Sometimes seeing the real deal seems so surreal.

My Block @ Flint

My current residence in US. It’s a quaint place… Everything in the house is themed blue. The furniture is blue, the kitchen flooring is blue. The main door is blue. Look… Even the fire hydrant is blue. Needless to say, the graduation gown is blue.
