Nothing beats the golden hues of light at sunset… The picture was captured after a rain at around 5pm in the National Orchid Garden. Who says you need strobes and flashes to creatively light your subjects? Nothing beats the flattering distribution of sunlight, unless ahem… The dastardly noon light. But even that is not entirely […]

This photo depicts an orchid I had found on a bench in the National Orchid Garden. I went there thinking I was going to shoot some entries for an orchid photography competition. In the end I didn’t submit photos for the competition because I was pretty ill the entire week. Well, I was actually sick […]
I’ll be back to posting photos of orchids. I went down to Botanic Garden yesterday to shoot orchids. It wasn’t the best day to shoot orchids as the weather was terribly hot. Can you believe my glasses fogged up from the heat? Â Anyway all these are new materials for my secret project. Which has been […]
You asked me to look at you. I looked at you, but you looked through me. What point is left between us?
I’m really really really sorry. Won’t you please forgive me?
They look like the last thing you’ll think of that’s an orchid.
The flower is incredibly small. It really took patience to get it into the right focus and snap that shot… Without the aid of any VR gizmos. Ah… Using the 55mm micro lens is both a joy and a pain. However, the satisfaction from this lens always makes me favor it over others.
This orchid is known as the Dendrobrium Roh Moo-hyun. Yes, it was named after the late South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun when he was in Singapore in 2003. When you have so taken so many photos, giving them names so many times over… It’s tempting to just refer to them by their generic file names. Lately I experienced disappointment, but it’s ironic I’ve been told off by that disappointing person that I’d been disappointing.
When I look at these flowers… They just didn’t exactly make me think of orchids.
The orchids totally reminded me of pasta.
I thought the gray background reminded me of x-ray… Nothing to do with the gray matter in my brain, or of the orchid. 😉
The orchid is a really complex-looking flower. The elongated lip of the flower is a prominent feature that differentiates it from other flowers.
The flower looks more like an art sculpture than a living being.
Not seeing you for weeks, I feel so carefree!
No matter how long it takes, I’ll be waiting.
Don’t you feel frustrated when you realize don’t know the exact name of a flower you see so often?
